Starting from Premia in Val Formazza you can park at the pharmacy and take the path on the right that leads to the ravine.
It is a very easy path on asphalt, on the way almost everything downhill.
Just out of the village you pass through the gorges of Balmafregia. The landscape is almost surreal and if you are lucky that the sun will provide the right lighting, you will have before you something magnificent, as if it were a grand canyon completely surrounded by greenery.
Continuing on the left at the junction we will pass the oratory of Santa Lucia and we will have the opportunity to see the first gorge immediately descending a short dirt road.
The Balmasurda gorge will be below us and from a bridge we will be able to admire all the power and beauty of years of water erosion on those mountains.
We recommend this route for families with children who can have fun.
Type of route: asphalt
Water: a fountain with drinking water at the end of the village and one where the rock wall begins
